Although vaporizers for dried flowers have been available for some time, Ontarians can now purchase vapes and vape accessories. Vapes come in a number of shapes and sizes but are made up of a mouthpiece, tank or reservoir, heating element, and battery. Besides the basic device, Ashario.ca offers many complementary accessories. Here's a rundown of what's available.
Types of Vapes
Vapes can be handheld or pen-shaped and disposable or refillable, which are meant to be used with cartridges pre-filled with cannabis extracts (concentrates). There are also vaporizers specifically designed to vaporize dried flowers or small amounts of extracts using the provided insert.
Some handheld vapes are adjustable, allowing you to select your desired temperature (such as Ashario's Apollo 900), and often come in kits that include cleaning tools, rechargeable batteries and a charger. Some even come with an app that updates the firmware and adds security to the device. Double-check the details before purchasing to see what's included.
Pre-filled Cartridges
Vape battery units (either 510 thread or closed loop) can be reused by attaching a new cartridge onto the battery. One crucial factor to consider when shopping for cartridges is to be aware of the type of battery it requires. Most batteries are labelled 510-thread, which means they have a special insert compatible with a 510-thread cartridge. However, some vape cartridges can only be used with batteries specific to the brand, so double-check which type you have before purchasing.
Disposable vape pens are not refillable and are not meant to be separated from their battery. All vape pens sold through Ashario.ca use pre-filled cartridges (no refillable cartridges are available).
Cleaning kits
More expensive handheld vaporizers (some of which are designed for extract use) and vaporizers for dried flowers must be cleaned regularly to work properly. Ashario.ca and Licensed Retailers carry a range of cleaning supplies, including brushes, bristle pipe cleaners, grime sticks and wipes, and cleaning solutions. These can also be used to clean pipes and other cannabis accessories.
